Speaker's Biography
Dr. Trung Q. Duong (IEEE Fellow) received his PhD degree in Telecommunications Systems from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden in September 2012. Currently, he is a Chair Professor of Telecommunications at Queen’s University Belfast (Queen’s), U.K. and a Research Chair of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng), U.K. His current research interests include optimisation, signal processing, and machine learning for wireless communications. He has published 7 books and 450+ journal articles/conference papers with 17,000+ citations and h-index 70. He has been awarded some of the highest recognitions in the UK including the 5-year RAEng Research Fellowship (only 8 awardees in all engineering disciplines in 2015), the 5-year RAEng Research Chair (only 4 awardees in all engineering disciplines in 2020).
He has served as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transaction on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Communications Letters, and IEEE Wireless Communications Letters. He has received several Best Paper Awards at flagship conferences including the IEEE VTC-Spring 2013, IEEE ICC 2014, IEEE GLOBECOM 2016, IEEE DSP 2017, IEEE GLOBECOM 2019, IWCMC 2019, IEEE GLOBECOM 2022, and IWCMC 2023. He is the recipient of the prestigious Newton Prize and a Fellow of IEEE.
