➠<International Collaborations> Prof. Tommaso Melodia delivered a speech and visited the 6G Research Center on Feb. 18, 2025
On February 18, 2025, the 6G Communication and Sensing Research Center hosted a lecture by internationally renowned expert Prof. Tommaso Melodia, titled "Open 6G: Toward Open, Programmable, and AI-Powered nextG Wireless Systems."
During the lecture, Prof. Melodia discussed designing an open, programmable, AI-driven, and virtualized next-generation wireless network. He emphasized the importance of programmable test platforms in 6G research, highlighting their role in promoting network intelligence and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration. He also shared updates from the O-RAN and AI-RAN alliances, addressing research challenges and recent achievements related to architectural design, intelligent coordination, conflict avoidance, and interpretability.
Prior to the lecture, Prof. Melodia visited the center's latest research on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) and toured National Sun Yat-sen University's Underwater Communication facilities.
